Down the street from the famous Whaley House is a small and very old cemetery with its own tales of ghostly sounds and apparitions. The El Campo Santo Cemetery was founded in the early 1800's and is the site of some very uneasy stories. Not the least of which is the story concerning the location of some of the bodies.

As the BIM team made its way into the El Campo Santo Cemetery, we read the plaque mounted on the block fence. The plaque was in honor of the twenty bodies that were not removed before the city decided to lay an asphalt street over the graves.

In the early 1930's, the city of San Diego decided to widen the street in front of the cemetery. Instead of removing the twenty bodies located in the spot the street would be taking, the city made the descision to lay the street over them instead of spending the money and time relocating them. Well, all except for a local Congressman, his body was relocated of course.

The ghostly figure of the original caretaker/grave digger  is often seen by tourists and locals. He, of course, is buried in the cemetery as well.

The BIM team took pictures, video and audio recordings while in the cemetery and received some help from a couple of tourists that were interested in the subject.

There were some low and high temperature readings in the cemetery, but no EMF readings what so ever.

The full story can be found in the current issue of Beyond Investigation Magazine, along with the video and audio files and full color pictures that are on the include CD.
