For those readers than live outside of Southern California, references to “The 909” do not have much meaning. Please allow me to explain: The 909 is not a secret government site a la Area 51, or some Mecca of the Supernatural. It simply consists of two of the larger areas of Southern California, Riverside County and San Bernardino County, which share the area code 909(Recently the area code has split to 951 in most of Riverside county, but the 909 moniker remains). Thanks to the snobbery of the Orange and Los Angeles county elite, fueled by morning radio DJs and television shows like Fox’s “The OC”, the 909 became synonymous with rednecks and meth labs. The 909 is where you go to live when you aren’t allowed in Tennessee anymore (We all know that’s actually Bakersfield, but that’s a topic for another time).
In reality, the 909 is an area rich in California history, with settlements dating back to the early 1800’s. As with any area of historic nature, there are bound to be lots of ghost stories, and this is no exception. I have been flooded with stories of the supernatural, and have picked a few to investigate. As a side note, I am a resident of the 909, relocating from Orange County myself, two years ago. I have all of my teeth, and am not now, nor have I ever been, married to any relative.
Here's a couple side-by-side after salt&pepper filter.
