Jim and Brian have been working on adding the sound to our "Live Paranormal Investigations." One of the microphones on either the Reel-to-Reel tape recorder or the computer digital recording system will be broadcast live on the future investigations. There will simply be an extra button that allows your system to start an audio feed from the investigation site.

The BIM Team hopes this will add more to the VPI's experience during the investigation.

The sound has been added and is working great! The next "Live Paranormal Investigation" will be the first to include the sound. As always, great job Jim!

The live audio function is being tested as we speak.  We're using streaming MP3 technology built into most modern streaming media players today.  The service is based on WinAmp's Shoutcast service and of course they recommend using WinAmp to listen to MP3 streams.  We can't detect any significant difference between WinAmp and Windows Media Player (tested with WMP 9) except that WinAmp seems to more reliably connect to the stream.  But, oddly enough, WMP seems to have a slightly lower CPU usage.  Below are 2 self-explanatory links.  If you use WinAmp, it has to be set as the default app for .pls files.
